XL fits in regular-size kids lunchboxes. I bought eight to put two in each of four lunchboxes, and all fit perfectly. They freeze overnight, go in at 7:00 AM, and are still cold when the kids come home around 4:00 PM. These ice packs are too big to easily fit in my freezer door shelf, but they do stack up there so it's not a deal-killer. They do sweat a little, so expect some drops of water in the lunchboxes.
